About

Jasmine Chong is a Malaysian–Indonesian designer based in New York.
She creates clothing shaped by feeling— by memory, place, and shifting interior worlds.
Raised in Southeast Asia, her earliest encounters with dress came through the women in her family, whose dressmaking and worn elegance formed a quiet language of intimacy and ritual. She later studied in Chicago and New York, graduating from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Parsons School of Design, and worked in the studios of Anna Sui, Thakoon, Marchesa, and Tory Burch before founding her label in 2016.
Her collections unfold as personal worlds, each grounded in a distinct atmosphere or emotional terrain. Garments are conceived in New York and produced in small quantities with specialist patternmakers and seamstresses in the Garment District, maintaining a close relationship between idea, hand, and body. Chong was named a National Design Award nominee for Fashion Design in 2026.
She is also co-owner and creative director of Celestia, a traditional Indonesian sailing vessel conceived as a living extension of her sensibility— an environment shaped by craft, landscape, and slow experience. Recognised by TIME as one of the World’s Greatest Places, Celestia has hosted artists, Hollywood cultural figures, and royal patrons.
Her work has been worn by artists including Kristen Stewart, Ali Wong, Vanessa Hudgens, and Quinta Brunson.
